Support for Charities making a difference ❤️

Giving back to the community is a core part of our DNA at

Second Cycle Threads Inc.

While we contribute directly to individuals in need with donations of refurbished furniture, toys, books, warm clothing and food items; we acknowledge and celebrate the efforts of charities across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and applaud their ability to connect individuals from diverse groups who do not have equal access to many services we take for granted and the numbers of individuals they are able to help in monumental ways. Whether it is giving your time or donation here are a few charities we take pleasure in supporting:

United Way - Greater Toronto Area

United Way Greater Toronto (UWGT) raises money to fight poverty in Toronto, York and Peel Regions. It primarily grants to local charities, but also runs its own community programs and conducts research to identify causes of poverty and inequality in the GTA.

The Good Shepherd Ministries

Founded in 1963, Good Shepherd Ministries (GSM) is a Roman Catholic charity which helps poor and homeless people in Toronto. GSM addresses immediate needs by providing food, shelter, and clothing, and hopes to reduce homelessness in the long-term by offering medical care, addiction treatment, counselling, and rehousing assistance. The charity runs programs at its Good Shepherd Centre, Barrett House, and St. Joseph’s Residence.

Daily Bread Food Bank

Founded in 1983, Daily Bread Food Bank (Daily Bread) is now one of Canada’s largest food banks. Daily Bread works with its partners to provide food and assistance to people struggling with hunger in the Toronto area. In F2019, Daily Bread supplied and distributed food to support 170 food programs in the Greater Toronto Area. These programs are run by 126 partner organizations, including shelters, meal programs, and other food banks.
